Peter McCallion Workshop Title: Indesign: Long Text Documents Technical Instruction Area: Digital Design Studios Technical Learning Objectives: Create a long text document and typeset it with production ready stylesheets Academic Programme/Level/Workshop code: (Intermediate) Room Number: Green Room 0F17 / Red Room 0F16 / Blue Room 0F15 / Magenta Room 0F14* Maximum Numbers Possible: (13)† *This year the workshop will be delivered as an online session. †As an online this workshop session can accommodate up to 30 students. NOTE: If students intend to follow this session using a booked DDS computer the must bring their own wired headphones!! |

If you are planning on accessing DDS facilities, book a workstation through the Connect 2 system. Please be aware of Covid-19 measure in place in all DDS rooms. Keep your distance, and clean your workstation before and after your session. Thank you.
- Setting up an InDesign workspace
- Adjusting the page size and margins
- Placing text from RTF, plain text, and Microsoft Word
- Applying text styles
- Use find and replace
- Automating formatting with Grep
- Adding footnotes and headers
- Fixing text details
- Create a table of contents
- Export the book block
